Cookeville Virus Removal will keep this list updated frequently.  This is not the official list circulating spyware and viruses but rather a list of the malicious software which Cookeville Computers/Cookeville Virus Removal is currently removing the most of.

Total Security Virus

For a while, the Total Security Virus was the most seen virus, trojan, spyware, or anything else which was brought to Cookeville ComputersCookeville Computers saw so many of this virus, I was seeing the Total Security shield in my sleep (not really but you get the idea).  The Total Security is secretly installed on your computer when visiting a malicious website.  It usually begins when when the website is clicked and a message pops up stating your computer is infected by virus or spyware and needs to be scanned immediately or risk further infection.  Often time the number of virus and spyware which is showing as infecting your computer is highly exaggerated.  The problem is, the message you are seeing is simply a popup message being displayed by your browser.  This is not the virus and your computer is not yet infected.  Going to the task manager via control-alt-delete and closing your browser session will stop the infection before it occurs.  Most people however, at least in the Tennessee area, are clicking the popup message.  The popup message is usually an active-x or hidden .exe file which you have now just given access to your computer.  Once infected, you will now have the usual messages, errors, and lockups which are the main characteristics of this type of spyware and virus infection.  The only good thing about the Total Security virus is that Cookeville Computers - Cookeville Virus Removal can remove this VERY quickly.

My Security Engine

My Security Engine is a virus which I thought had been out for a while and run its course but its back!!!! Apparently a slightly updated or changed version if My Security Engine is now floating around the internet.  Cookeville Virus Removal k nows this because we were able to find it on a rogue website this afternoon.  Using a test machine I attempted multiple times to install it and then run it in an attempt to test my Kaspersky virus software.  Proud to say that Kaspersky kept my shop computer clean fairly clean despite my best efforts.  The virus was able to create a folder and install the files but Kaspersky blocked the program from actually running.  Would have preferred that Kaspersky not allowed the virus to get that far but I was trying very hard to force and install.

Personal Antivirus

This one has been around for while now and Cookeville Virus Removal had almost forgotten about it but it's beginning to make a comeback.  A lot of people have gotten this virus via their Facebook inbox.  Personal Antivirus is not the most damaging virus around and not that difficult for us to remove but if you happen to become infected by it, then it is defiantly a major pain and will usually take control of your computer and restrict or redirect your internet access.

Antivirus Pro 2010

Without a doubt, Antivirus Pro 2010 is the most common virus that Cookeville Virus Removal/Cookeville Computers has the pleasure of removing.   This virus is everywhere.  Fairly easy to remove and doesn't cause any long term damage or data loss, Antivirus Pro 2010 is defilantly annoying.  You may have seen Antivirus Pro 2010's younger brother, Antivirus Pro 2009.  Its a different year and a different name but that basis of Antivirus Pro are the same no matter the year.

Virus Protector

The Virus Protector virus is another of the misleading application threats currently circulating.  This one is somewhat difficult to remove because it is hidden well and will prevent most all windows processes from starting.  If you get this bug on your computer, your most likely going to need help from a professional.  I don't think I've heard of anyone successfully removing this one on their own.
